SKILLS DEVELOPMENT THROUGH WEBINARS

As we continue to live in the new normal, Rang-ay bankers continue to upgrade their skills and knowledge through webinars to provide quality banking services to the countryside.
A webinar on How to Manage Stress during the Pandemic was held via Zoom last August 20, 2020. It was participated by various Officers from the 29 branches and Head Office Support Units. The webinar was facilitated by Human Resource Department (HR Training Team) in coordination with one of our Health Insurance provider Intellicare with resource speaker, Ms. Criselda Lorenzana.
Last September 17, 2020, The Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP) hosted a virtual seminar on Virtual Training on AML Rule & Regulations and Risk Rating System.The webinar discussed the updates on AMLA Rules & Regulations; concepts of Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing & Proliferation Fianancing. The Credit Information Corporation (CIC) also conducted online workshop last September 18, 2020 participated by Credit Management Officer Kaye Ann Culbengan. The training covers the technical requirements for submission and compliance with Republic Act No. 9510 or the Credit Information System Act (CISA).


CONNECTING RANG-AY BANKERS ONLINE

Rang-ay Bank celebrated the 67th birthday of Chairman Ives Nisce via Zoom Teleconference at their respective branches last October 15, 2020 with the theme “ Connecting Rang-ay Bankers Online”. Officers & staff from the bank’s 29-branches participated in the event via online.
Chairman Ives was only 23 years old when he took over as the duly-elected president and manager and became the youngest rural bank chief executive at that time. He transformed a single unit bank to 30 branches in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, La Union, Benguet & Pangasinan. Inspired by the goals of the bank’s founders, Rang-ay Bank become the biggest bank in its class in the whole Ilocos and Cordillera Regions.
The celebration started with an e-mass at the bank’s Head Office 4th floor followed by a roll-call from the branches via Zoom and an Audio Visual Presentation (AVP) of Rang-ay Bank’s year in review. A new feature of the celebration were the e-greetings from all branches and units as well as live zoom performance by Vigan, Agoo & Main Branches. The top e-greeting was the Main Branch and the best live presentation went to the Agoo Branch.
Another highlight of the event was the recognition of the top performing branch & HO unit for the 1st Semester of 2020. The top performing branches were awarded to Officers & Staff of Vigan, Magsingal & Sinait Branches. Accounting Department also received the President’s Award for their efforts during the 1st Semester of 2020.











SSS ACCREDITED DISBURSING BANK SINCE 1996

Rang-ay Bank has been an accredited Social Security System (SSS) servicing bank since 1996. For more than two decades, the bank serves as a channel for pensioners where their benefits are safely & timely credited to their deposit accounts. In the decade’s long partnership, the bank was recognized as a Balikat ng Bayan Best Collecting Partner in 2016 and 2018. Rang-ay was awarded by SSS for consistently being the nation’s top rural bank with the highest collections while processing a large volume of SSS transactions throughout its wide branch network.
The bank offers Pensioner Deposit Savings accounts for SSS pensioners where their pensions are directly deposited. With the bank’s wide area network, it is more convenient for the SSS pensioners to access banking services especially in smaller towns. Pensioners depositors can likewise avail of SSS pensioner’s loan program of the bank up to P 250,000 with a maximum term of two (2) years.
Rang-ay Bank’s recent membership to the Philippine Electronic Fund Transfer & System Operations Network (PESONet) also allows the bank to serve as a conduit for all SSS services. SSS beneficiaries may now receive their benefits including Sickness, Maternity, Initial Disability, Death, Funeral, Unemployment and Retirement as well as Calamity & Salary Loan proceeds through PESONet and directly deposited to their Rang-ay Bank deposit accounts. SSS clients may also pay their contributions in any of the 29 branches of Rang-ay Bank.

SUPPORTING ENTREPRENEURS

The Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo in partnership with the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) invited Rang-ay Bank to be one of the panelist on the Online Kapatid Mentor Micro Enterprise (KMME) held last October 5-7, 2020 via Zoom Teleconference.
In pursuit to the goals of the program, there were forty one (41) mentees who presented their business Improvement Plan. The mentees are now ready to apply newly acquired knowledge in their business and highlighting some operational challenges under the new normal conditions. Through the mentees presentation, Rang-ay Bank VP for Credit & Remedial Management Nina Francisca Palabay introduced the Rang-ay Bank and discussed how these entrepreneurs can avail of bank financing.
