RANG-AY CARES FOR SENIORS AND PWDs
Rang-ay Bank Rosario (La Union) Branch marked its 3rd Anniversary serving the people of Rosario through a donation of 120 health kits to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs). The turnover event was conducted at the Municipal Covered Court last April 19, 2021.
The Rang-ay team presented the health kits, each containing one box of vitamin C, one box of facemasks, faceshield and alcohol to Rosario Mayor Atty. Bellarmin Flores II. The Mayor and the Rang-ay team distributed kits to the seniors and PWDs in a special meeting. During the short program, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to Rang-ay Bank in behalf of the Senior Citizen Federations and PWDs of Rosario for thinking of the wellbeing, health, and safety of the seniors and less fortunate of the municipality.
As we pursue our lives in the new normal, Rang-ay Bank also continues to extend support to the local communities by conducting community projects in the communities where it’s branches are located. Projects organized by the bank are properly coordinated with their respective Local Government Units (LGUs). All Covid and safety protocols are followed in each event as the bank wishes everyone to stay safe and healthy.
DEVELOPING BANKERS THROUGH WEBINARS
Rang-ay Bank continues to develop our home grown bankers through webinars to provide quality banking services to the country side.
Rural Bankers Research and Development Foundation Inc. (RBRDFI) conducted a two (2) day webinar on February 2 & 3, 2021. Candon Branch Manager Janice Peralta and Bacnotan Branch Manager Eden Prime Balongcas participated online at their respective branches. Speaker Ma. Julma Jongco discussed the importance of credit analysis and loan packaging as well as the credit principles and guidelines in loan evaluation.
Holistic Learning conducted a five (5) day webinar on Effective Supervisory and Leadership Skills attended by Aringay Branch Manager Analyn Mendigoria. The program discussed the principles of leadership and effective supervision which aims to help officers to prepare for the challenges of supervisory position.
ORIENTATION AND AMLA SEMINAR 2021
Rang-ay Bank conducted an Orientation and Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) Seminar for new hirees at the bank’s conference room in the City of San Fernando, La Union with a teleconference for new hirees in the branches last January 29 and February 4, 2021.
The event was attended by twenty (20) newly hired employees at the various Rang-ay Bank branches. The orientation aims to instill to the new hirees the bank’s mission “To hasten progress in the communities of the Ilocos Region and Cordillera through accessible and affordable banking services.” Product and services, Government & BSP Regulations, Data Privacy, Consumer Protection, Financial Literacy, Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) and HR policies were discussed during the 2-day program.
DOLE AND DSWD DISBURSEMENT PLATFORM
Embodying its mission to provide accessible financial services in the rural areas, select Rang-ay Bank branches are now platforms for disbursement of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department Of Labor and Employment (DOLE) subsidies.
Made possible through a partnership with RCBC via Diskartech- an online-based aid disbursement portal. Beneficiaries now have more accessible and hassle-free way to receive their subsidies. This will especially benefit those in smaller towns and people who do not have existing ATM accounts. Instead of going through lengthy processes such as opening an account, getting or renewing ID’s to fulfill account requirements and lining up in queues to withdraw, this new disbursement platform provided by Diskartech to Rang-ay Bank allows easy cash out for the beneficiaries and an easier disbursement for the government agencies. The beneficiary only needs to present a provided Beneficiary Registration Number (BRN) and Barangay Clearance or any government issued ID.
Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of DOLE and DSWD is a cash emergency subsidy program (ESP) for Filipino families whose lives are greatly affected by the pandemic. It was created by the Bayanihan To Heal As One Act .
DOLE and DSWD disbursement truncheon will be initially made available in 21 of 30 Rang-ay Branches namely: San Fernando Highway Branch, San Juan, Aringay, Agoo, Tubao, Rosario (La Union); Laoag, Dingras, Bangui (Ilocos Norte), Bangued (Abra); Vigan City, Magsingal, Sinait, Narvacan, Burgos, Candon City, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Cruz (Ilocos Sur); La Trinidad (Benguet); and Dagupan and Rosales (Pangasinan).
CCTV FOR SAN JUAN (LU) PUBLIC MARKET
As part of the celebration of the 8th Anniversary of San Juan (La Union) Branch, Rang-ay Bank donated CCTV surveillance package which include 16 units of CCTV cameras with 16-channel DVR, monitor and cctv cables to Local Government Unit of San Juan last March 16, 2021 intended for the town’s public market.
The team led by Area Manager for Central Branches Thelma Evelyn Tabafunda together with San Juan Branch Manager Novelyn Luebben and Marketing Officer Florence Licudine turned over the donation to San Juan Mayor Arturo Valdriz. The project aims to provide safety and security for market goers and vendors of San Juan La Union.
