BSP RENEWS ACCREDITATION OF RANG-AY BANK AS RFI

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has reaccredited 10 banks as rural financial institutions (RFIs). These ten banks were accredited for the purpose of implementing the Agri-Agra Reform Credit Act of 2009 (RA 10000).

BSP’s list of banks approved as RFIs have been listed since 2012 and serves as a guide to inform the public of which banks to approach for agri-agra credit compliance. The banks are RANG-AY BANK, Producers Bank, Rural Bank of Sta. Catalina, Common Wealth Rural Bank, Rural Bank of Bay, Rural Bank of Angeles, New Rural Bank of San Leonardo (Nueva Ecija) First Isabela Cooperative Bank, Rural Bank of San Mateo (Isabela) and Cavite United Rural Bank.

Rang-ay Bank is the only bank based in Region I and CAR among the accredited rural banks. Rang-ay finances agri-Businesses such as rice-millers, vegetable haulers, contract growers, warehousers, agri-suppliers and bamboo growers all over the region. Agri-entrepreneurs may apply for start-up capital, additional working capital or expansion of existing agri-business. The bank also provides collateral-free Farmers Loans to small scale cultivators, farmers, tenants or lease holders. The program also covers backyard or cottage poultry projects and livestock raisers for additional capital agricultural projects such as livestock and fishery projects, planting of rice, corn and vegetables and other food crops.

ROSALES (PANGASINAN) BRANCH NEW SITE

Rang-ay Bank formally opened the new site of Rosales (Pangasinan) Branch located at Gen. Luna St., Brgy. Zone III, Rosales, Pangasinan. The inauguration was held on July 17, 2019 followed by a reception at Cozy Place Resort, Rosales, Pangasinan.

The inauguration started with prayers in front of the new branch premises officiated by Rev. Father Crisanto Draculan of Saint Anthony de Padua Parish Church followed by the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon by Rosales Mayor Susan Casareno & Vice-Mayor Enrique Cosue, Jr. assisted by Dr. Rosita Canlas-Nisce and Bank Chairman Ives Nisce together with stakeholders, business partners and Rang-ay Bank Officers and staff.

Rosales (Pangasinan) Branch, formerly located at Petron Square, Carmen Complex McArthur Highway, moved to its new location at Gen. Luna St., Brgy. Zone III to provide more accessible and convenient banking services to the people of Rosales. The relocation of the branch is a solid manifestation of Rang-ay Bank’s commitment to bring modern financial services to the countryside in support of the government’s call for financial inclusion.

Rosales (Pangasinan) branch is a full service branch with a complete line of banking services. ORIENTATION AND AMLA SEMINAR 2019

The employee orientation and Anti Money Laundering Act (AMLA) Seminar for the new Rang-ay Bankers was held at Rang-ay Bank Head Office Training Room in San Fernando City, La Union last July 13, 2019.                                        

The event was attended by twenty two (22) new hirees from Head Office and branches. The orientation aims to inculcate to the new bankers the bank’s mission “To hasten progress in the communities of the Ilocos Region and Cordillera through accessible and affordable banking services”. Rang-ay Bank is a home-grown Ilocano bank which seeks to provide equitable growth and development in Region I & CAR by making available banking services and easy access to affordable credit.

FINANCIAL LITERACY FOR SANTOL AND BALAOAN SCHOOLS

Rang-ay Bank Balaoan Branch conducted four (4) separate financial literacy briefings and product presentations in schools in Santol & Balaoan, La Union namely- Balaoan Central School, Bulbulala Elementary School, Guinaburan Elementary School and Corro-oy Elementary School during the month of June 2019.

Area Manager Winnie Mingaracal together with Balaoan Branch Senior Manager Leah Mantilla and HO Marketing Team introduced the bank’s products and services as well as the importance of saving, budgeting, financial planning, the responsible use of credit, banking, entrepreneurship and avoiding scams. Through financial literacy program, the teachers, non-teaching staff, parents and pupils learn the value of money and acquire knowledge and skills on handling their personal resources effectively.
