RANG-AY BANK PARTICIPATES IN THE FESTIVALS

Longer days and the promise of warmer weather can only mean one thing: it’s festival season in the Philippines. We have festivals for all sorts of things – thanksgiving, crop season, religion, and of course, music. Rang-ay Bank welcomed the summer by supporting and joining local celebrations in the various communities over the Ilocos and Cordilleras.
Every Summer, an Agri Trade Fair is held in Rosario, La Union to celebrate the yearly harvests.The celebration is called the “Linubian Festival” which is named after a local cassava and banana cake. The 11th Linubian Festival last April 17-25, 2018 included a Street Dancing competition which was one of the highlights of the event. It also include the competition for each Barangay where a Kubo, or a small nipa hut is built by the officials on the skating rink before the main event.
The start of the festival coincided with the formal opening of the Rang-ay Bank Rosario (La Union). The branch sponsored Brgy. Poblacion East’s float and booth. Poblacion East, Rosario La Union is the home address of Rang-ay’s 29th and newest banking office.
Bangui, Ilocos Norte celebrated its Annual Amian Festival on April 26, 2018. It is a thanksgiving celebration for the town’s patron saint, St. Lawrence. Bangui is well known because of the Bangui Wind Farm, the first power generating windmill farm in Southeast Asia, which is the town’s most popular tourist attraction.
Rang-ay Bank Bangui and Laoag Branches joined in the celebrations by participating in one of the highlights of the event. Rang-ay Bank opened its 27th branch last December 8,2017 which is it’s 3rd branch in Ilocos Norte.The grand civic parade was participated by local government employees, schools, senior citizens and non-government organizations all over the town.
The strawberry capital of the country aims for community-centered activities for the 37th Strawberry Festival in La Trinidad, Benguet. The two-week celebration was launched on February 26 with the theme “La Trinidad’s Strawberries Forever.” Close to 20,000 tourists joined this year’s celebration.
Rang-ay Bankers led by Branch Manager Marlon Flores together with La Trinidad Branch staff and Marketing Staff energetically participated in the Strawberry festival parade last March 16, 2018. Rang-ay Bank La Trinidad (Benguet) Branch provides full banking services ranging from big businesses and contractors to agri-businesses including strawberry farmers and distributors.
The Bangus Festival of Dagupan, Pangasinan is one of the most awaited festivals in the country because of the way it is celebrated. Dagupan City celebrates its Annual Bangus Festival on April 3-May 5, 2018. The main highlight of the festival is the street party where people would grill a total of ten thousand Bangus using one thousand grills along the Fernandez Avenue on the 30th day of April 2018.
Rang-ay Bank Dagupan (Pangasinan) branch has been in the city serving the people of Dagupan for 23 years. The bank staff grilled the bangus as part of the celebration of the Pangasinan sea food delicacy and our national fish.
The Sillag Festival is named after the Ilocano word “sellag” meaning “moonbeam”, alongside other positive subtexts including happiness or enjoyment as one is elated and relaxed from a moonbeam after a hard day’s work. La Union celebrated its 7th Sillag Festival of Lights last April 6-8, 2018 at the Poro Point Freeport Zone, City of San Fernando La Union.
The event kicked off with exciting activities including Zumba by the Bay followed by Sunset Run for Hope, street dancing and lantern parade competition, airshow and skydiving. Rang-ay Bank continues to support this event by actively participating every year in the Sillag Run for Hope.
