ROTARY PDG NISCE FOUNDATION

The Board of Trustees of the Rotary PDG (Past District Governor) Rudy Nisce Foundation Inc. hosted the Rotary Club of SFLU luncheon meeting at Oasis Country Resort last May 23. Invited to talk were five scholars of the foundation (Ruel Marzo, Neil Jhon Boado, Dominic Gapuz, Jessica Flores and Prema Barnachea) who expressed their gratitude and explained how their college scholarship paved the way for a brighter future. The Foundation is chaired by RCSFLU PP (Past President) Jun Mangaoang with PP Ives Nisce serving as treasurer. Other trustees on hand were Pres Tim Warden, PP Richard Dy, IP Kendrick Tan and Rotarian Robie Valete. The foundation, named after Rang-ay Bank’s former president, the late Atty. Rodolfo Nisce, is supported by Rang-ay Bank.

The foundation is a tribute to the civic-consciousness and professional excellence of the late Atty. Rodolfo M. Nisce. Together with his wife, Eufrosina Querol, and some relatives led by the late Doña Numeriana Tavora-Querol, founded RANG-AY BANK in San Fernando City, La Union in 1956. PDG Rudy Nisce was a founding member and officer of the first Rotary Club in the province, the Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) in 1959. He became the club’s president in 1961 and later in 1966, the first Rotary District Governor from the Ilocos.
