SAYAW KONTRA DROGA

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) hosted a Community Relations Outreach Program at Lipay Integrated School, San Gabriel, La Union with the support of Rang-ay Bank last June 22, 2017.

The program started with the “Sayaw Kontra Droga” (Dance Against Illegal Drugs) introduced by BJMP personnel along with mascots Lady Jail Officers “Matino” and “Empoy”. Among the issues discussed were environmental preservation, proper hygiene, basic computer literacy, anti-bullying and basic rights of a child, and importance of agriculture were discussed to the students. Around 500 students of the school and 200 residents of Lipay town were beneficiaries of the community outreach program.

Bank Consultant Leticia Asenci and Head Office Marketing Unit led by Florence Joy Licudine were present to support the event. The bank not only joined the program but also gave away snacks to all participating students during the program. The activity is in line with the BJMP’s and Rang-ay’s observance of this year’s Community Relations Service Month.
